Built From Local Roots

Sedgley & Gornal United FC has grown from small beginnings into a well-established community football club, shaped by local families, passion for the game and a commitment to providing opportunities for all.

Early Beginnings

The club’s origins date back to before 1999, when teams first played as Sedgley Spartak FC. In 2000, a group of parents came together to create a more consistent and structured environment for young players, leading to the formation of Sedgley Scorpions FC.

Growth
& Expansion

From those early years, the club continued to grow, adding new teams season after season and becoming a strong part of the local football community. Over time, the club expanded to include up to 17 teams, including the introduction of its first girls team in 2012.

Becoming United

In 2018, following the addition of several teams from another failing local club, it was decided that the club should evolve into Sedgley & Gornal United FC. This change reflected both the growth of the club and its role within the wider community it proudly represents today.
